Lawrence Cramer's background is in marketing. He has worked as a marketing director in retail distribution, as an advertising executive for a CBS-TV affiliate station, and eventually as a creative director at an advertising agency. This is where he sat in front of his first computer, a Mac Classic. It was love at first site.

As the web gained momentum, he started doing web design. Eventually he moved to the PC side of the fence, learned SQL, ASP, and ColdFusion and began developing dynamic content. Lawrence has used Dreamweaver since version 1 and made the move to UltraDev literally the day it came out. He now works with all the Adobe Studio MX programs, as well as Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL. ColdFusion is his development language of choice.

Lawrence specializes in web application development. He is best known as the creator and founder of Cartweaver. Lawrence also helps out on the Adobe forums as a Adobe Community Expert , teaches at the local community college, speaks at web development conferences around the country, writes articles on web development and eCommerce and is a trainer for Lynda.com.

As Senior Applications Developer for Integram in Northern Virginia, Tom develops back-end ColdFusion applications for expedited electronic communications. Tom also runs the Basic-UltraDev site with co-author Ray West and is a founding member of the Dreamweaver Team.

Tom is the lead author of Flash Remoting: The Definitive Guide. He is the co-author of five Dreamweaver-related books, including Building Dreamweaver 4 and Dreamweaver UltraDev 4 Extensions (Osborne McGraw-Hill, 2001). Most of his extensions are available at www.basic-ultradev.com/extensions.

Tom is an extensibility expert focused on the integration of Adobe products with ColdFusion, ASP, PHP, and other languages, applications, and technologies.
Tom has been recognized for this expertise as the 2000 recipient of Macromedia's Best UltraDev Extension Award. He also writes numerous articles for magazines, journals, and web sites and speaks at conferences on this and related subjects.
