The Cartweaver Extension Suite“In true Dreamweaver fashion, the Cartweaver extension suite allows you to perform the same tasks in two or more ways, so that you can work however you feel comfortable.” —Angela C. Buraglia The Cartweaver extension suite will help you implement your store's shopping cart so quick that you'll hardly believe it is so easy. Compatible with Dreamweaver (CS3/8/MX 2004), the Cartweaver extension suite is made up of Menus, Server Behaviors, Snippets and an optional Toolbar. The Cartweaver extension suite is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh versions of Dreamweaver. The Cartweaver extension suite was designed with attention to detail, ease-of-use, and simplicity in mind. You won't find confusing dialogs requiring complicated entries. Helpful and easy-to-understand messages are provided to help you make the right choices. You're even given helpful messages that guide you through using the extension so you know exactly what you need to do next. Be sure to check out the movies of the Cartweaver extension suite in action. Cartweaver Toolbar
The Cartweaver Toolbar contains 10 buttons which will take you through your cart from installation to finish. You may access the Cartweaver toolbar by choosing View> Toolbars> Cartweaver or by right-clicking/Ctrl+clicking on any other toolbar and choosing Cartweaver . Place your cursor over the icons in the image of the toolbar to view a tool tip of the command name just like the one you'll see in Dreamweaver. The Cartweaver toolbar is optional; all of the toolbar's functionality is also available in the Cartweaver sub menus. If you prefer buttons to menus, you'll love how easy the toolbar is to use. We decided to make the toolbar optional because the Dreamweaver workspace on the Macintosh does not allow you to reposition toolbars; we made the toolbar optional so that essential workspace is not taken up on the Macintosh unless it is desired. The Cartweaver toolbar is "server model smart", so the same toolbar is used for all versions of Cartweaver. This means that if you own both ColdFusion and ASP for example, the toolbar will detect the current document (based on the .asp or .cfm file extension) and insert the code accordingly. By sharing the toolbar between multiple server models, this allows owners of multiple Cartweaver versions to keep their workspace simple rather than cluttered by multiple toolbars for Cartweaver. MenusThe Cartweaver extension suite includes a whole new menu dedicated to Cartweaver, just left of the Help menu. In this menu, you'll find all the same commands found in the toolbar as well as the following additional commands: Support, Customer Login, Check for Updates, About Cartweaver.
The Support command will open the default browser specified in Dreamweaver and take you directly to the Support page online. Customer Login also launches the browser and brings you to the Customer Area where you can download the MySQL and SQL upsizers as well as get other valuable info and goodies available only to Cartweaver customers. Check for Updates allows you to check the Cartweaver site for the latest version of Cartweaver and compare it to the version that you have installed. Lastly, About Cartweaver shows you your current version number and introduces the Cartweaver Team members involved in the product. Server BehaviorsThe Cartweaver extension suite contains two server behaviors. These
server behaviors, Setup and Search/Navigation, can be accessed from either
the toolbar or Cartweaver menus as well as from the Cartweaver submenu
of the Server Behavior panel. You can double-click on a listed Setup or
Search/Navigation server behavior in the Server Behaviors panel to modify
it at any time. Snippets
For the serious hand-coder, we've provided the Details, Order Confirmation, Order Form, Results, Show Cart and View Cart Link snippets. They insert the same code that the toolbar and commands use, but if you're inclined to modify the code you'll be able to do so by editing the snippet and saving it for future use. Once you've updated your snippets to use the code you want, the Toolbar buttons will then insert your newly modified code for you. BONUS: The ASP and PHP versions of Cartweaver provide snippets for each of the more than 25 built in functions used throughout the application. |
